MUSIC THEORY, GCSE & A-LEVEL SPECIALISTS
LONDON & ONLINE
Have you heard? We LOVE music theory!
Through our immersive courses, students will gain confidence in all areas of the exam and understand why we love music theory so much - and why it is important - through music they already know and enjoy*. We are incredibly proud of our 100% success rate, with most students achieving merits or distinction in their ABRSM Grade 5 Theory exam within weeks of the course!
No prior theory experience is required - we cover the entire Grade 5 Theory syllabus from scratch. We also throw in a bit of music psychology, and even explore the science of how sound actually works. They can also try out some new instruments (maybe even make some with vegetables!), make new friends, and eat loads of cake. Is there a better way to spend a weekend? We don't think so!

There will be lots of group work around the table and at the piano, and some individual work too. Students need to be around grade 5 level in their instrument but do not need to have done any music theory before joining us.
During the breaks, students are welcome to try out any of our instruments - drum kit, guitars, ukulele, piano, synths, bass guitar - we have had spontaneous choirs forming over lunch, and one group even started a band!
Everything is provided for you - we use our own workbooks written specifically for the course, and provide past papers and stationary.
All the food is homemade - even the popcorn! We cook and eat lunch together, decorate cakes with musical symbols, sit in the garden to learn in the fresh air when it's warm or have hot chocolate while deciphering time signatures of everyone's favourite tracks when it's cold.
Our students leave the course our students with all the knowledge they need to prepare for the exam - and we don't just say goodbye to our families at this point!
We offer drop-in group online revision sessions, online revision resources, and marking support.
Individual tuition is available too, although we don't expect this will be needed.
Thank you very much for a wonderful few days. She thoroughly enjoyed herself and said theory of music was fun! You clearly have the knack of bringing the subject to life in a way that children can understand!
